Instead of giving in, I would suggest you go and complain

• Customs, Excise and Service Tax
• Customs Check and Clearance

Couple of years ago I face a similar issue when I went ahead to complain with the customs commissioner Mr. Chandrashekar. He was extremely helpful and promised to take necessary action. Instead of giving in, I would suggest you go and complain, it is inconvenient but necessary.
