Bribe for property transfer and registration

Had to pay Rs 10000 as bribe at the Koramangala sub registrar office at the BDA complex. This was despite having all documents in place. I was told that if I don't pay then the registration will be denied on some frivolous excuse of papers not being in order. Experiences like this make me feel ashamed of being an Indian. Hope I leave this country soon for good.
