I got a flat (cost 16L) form well known builder in kanpur. Officer in charge, openly asked for 1% ie 16000 as a bribe. We negotiated through a lawer but had to pay Rs8000 as a bribe. He even was not happey with 8000 and was asking for more. I saw that he was openly asking for bribe form all the persons who were lined up for the registration of land or house.
