Bribe to policemen at exit of international airport to avoid baggage check

I was coming from USA and landed in Delhi IG Airport. During exit, a policeman stopped me and asked my baggage declaration form and he enquired about how many laptops, cameras etc I brought. Since I had little bit extra electronic items, so I had to bribe him 500 rs to let me go.
