Bribe to Recover Stolen Jewellery

Actually this is a story of my friend, whose family has a Jewellery Business in Nayagarh. Last Month there was an armed robbery where the robbers looted jewellery worth 11 Lakhs from their shop.
The robbers were somehow caught without the jewellery amount sometime later.Despite that Police has asked for 1 Lakh bribe for recovering the jewellery. They are yet to recover the jewellery. But they have paid an amount of 1 Lakh to Police to get back 11 lakhs.
So at times even though we don't want to pay bribe,we have to pay bribe even though we want.Sometimes it is unavoidable.
Some checks like lokpal at lower levels will definitely help eradicate corruption at lower levels
