Even after my complaint i dont think the action was taken

• Customs, Excise and Service Tax
• Customs Check and Clearance
• Paid INR 50,000

In the year 2009 after a year outside india i returned back to homeland. it was in bangalore international airport. while i did my transit in taiwan i purchased a professional digital camera which was around 1000 usd. it was a duty free shop and the bill was with gst. it was around 2am in bangalore airport when i landed. while passing the customs one of the customs officer ased me to show me the bill. the bill was in chinese but was clearly mentions the ********** name of the product and the cost in english. the guy who stopped me was a new recruiter i hope. he asked for suggesstion from his senior officer. that officer was drunk and didnt even had a proper customs officer attire. he asked me what am i. i explained him what am i. then he said me it is not allowed in india to get produts from taiwan. i didnt know the rules. but it was a lie. i told him i will pay the tax at the airport.but he said i have to pay 500usd for that. i was shocked at first then i understood he's asking for bribe. i said i will pay the tax no problem. but he refued it and said i have to wait till 10 in the morning, should give a letter. then he also added if u dont wanna pay tax 200 ruppees will do. but i was not having indian currenncy. i told him better i will speak to his higher official. then he said his junior to open all my baggages and check for any illegal items. as i'm a sailor i carry computer related items with me. he made me to wait there till 430 in the morning. with me was a french couple came to some iscon temple. theywere alsoo having the same problem i felt really ashamed. that french guy was coming first time to india. he was abusing india. but even then the officer was adamant about getting his bribe. then i said him sir let me go i have only us dollars. and i have only hundereds. he took me to the nearest room took the purse from me and took a hundered dollar bill and a 10 ruppees indian currency which i kept as gift from my grandma. i left with no choice to leave the place losing my money. later i posted a complaint to the vigilane unit in customs bangalore. they too replied but i donno whether they took action on that officer. worse thing was there is not even a single sign board showing vigilance hot lines in that area. its been a bad experience for me in my own nation as officers are begging and looting from people in a airport.
