To get done my Passport verification

I applied for a passport in FEB-2012. and the passport verification was sent to local police station at Bhopal. I was checking up my Online status regularly . But police never turned up to my house for almost 2 months. Forcefully i need to go to PS to get my verification done and i need to pay him 500 rs for getting his responsibilities done. Shame on me !! i regret that but no other go .
