Paid a bribe foe Income Certificate but in Vain

My age was 18 years dueing those days.
During those days, CM YSR had announced many scholarships for all those minorities whose Annual income was below certain level.
I saw my friend having Mercedes at home getting these scholarships. I asked them about it. They suggested me to go to the Mandal office and pay some amount to get a fake(literally) Income certificate.
I thought it would be of some help to my father if i get the scholarship. So i went to the mandal office and tried to get the certificate without bribe As my father was retired from govt. job and his annual income those days were in the allowed range for the scholarship. But they didnot give any response.
I dicided to catch the attender and let him know about the bribe to th officer. Then the officer took the amount(Rs.500) and asked me to come after a week.
When i came back after a week he didnt give me the certificate and weeks passed and gave up.
This is my story. This was me giving a bribe for the first time.
