Hi, Recently I purchased a flat and when I went to get the mutation of property done I have been asked to pay INR 159. Below is story:
1. I went to GHMC, Mosapet office at around 2PM.
2. Given complete set of documents to the office executive.
3. He checked all the documents and asked me to deposite DD to the cashier.
4. I went to the cashier and given him the DD along with my document set.
5. He has given me receipt for DD amount and asked me to pay INR 50.
6. I asked why, then he said it's fee everyone pays it to get their work done in smoother way.
7. I just paid him 50 bucks and left the place. (Cashier section)
8. I went back to that guy who asked me to deposit DD to the cashier and given him the bunch of documents along with the DD receipt.
9. He did some entries in his computer system at his leisure and after some 20 mins he has given me some acknowledgement along with that DD receipt and asked me to pay 100 bucks as fee, I asked him what this fee is all about
then he replied this is my fees, everyone pays it happily. Then one guy (someone outsider I guess, I am not sure though) advised me to pay otherwise my file will not be processed.
10. So I end up paying INR 150 as bribe to these guys even after having all the required documents for mutation process.
