Paid money without recipt to custom officer to get an LCD-TV

On my way back to India from a foreign location I bought a LCD TV to gift to my sister in India however during the immigration process at New-Delhi airport I was asked to pay an exorbitant amount of money for my TV. When I tried to reason out with the office on Duty and showed my original TV bills, I was told that according to there price list total duty amount is XXX. However they are willing to help me with a smile. I got the meaning and negotiated for Rs. 1500 as bride to get my goods through the custom.

No recipt given to me and I know I bribed the officer as otherwise things are so made so difficult by these officers and there is absolute collapse of any feedback mechanism.

So you have to make a choice whether you want to pay a unreasonable and unfair amount of duty charges of a high charge to these corrupt officers and move on.

I have decided not to bring any good back to India from outside where I have to go through this system and have to beg these govt officials who get salary from the tax money which we pay to govt. of India.

I hate the system and moreso because I am also one who is part of this system.
