Paid to traffic police when entered no entry unknowingly and hit a pedestrian

When I was coming on my two wheeler from Maninagar area & wanted to go towards Relief Road, I did not notice the "small" No Entry sign at the corner of road and simply enter the road. There was an old man with tiffin in hand crossing the road looking at other side and suddenly came in front. I tried best and slightly hit him, he fell on road. I stopped to look at him and see if he needed help. One traffic police guy came and asked for license. The second came meanwhile by the time I parked my scooter. They checked learning license, claimed I entered no entry, hit the pedestrian. Fine is 200/- rupees. I argued and said that I did not knew abt the no entry. It is my fault that I hit the man and ready to take him to hospital. They demanded and I paid Rs 100/- to two of them and than 20/- to old man for having pain in chest to buy medicine. Never liked paying bribe but was forced due to my mistake and ignorance.
