The officer at Thane Rural demanded a bribe of 200 Rs for clearing the verification soon. At ********** Road the Police official who did my verification asked me another 200 Rs. I had initially given 100 rs but he informed me that it was 200 Rs and I had to pay up for the process to be faster. This has been ongoing and I believe that the passport verification even for renewal is just to harass the citizens. IF the COPS ASK FOR BRIBE THIS COUNTRY HAS A BLEAK *******
