Beat police officers from Model Town 3 Police Station asked for some 'tea' treat before completing passport verification.

They asked for Rs, 1,000 until I had to settle for Rs. 700. Passport verification is a critical process and if rejected causes more headaches than paying Rs. 700.

This form of bribery is rampant and is paid by the people as a form of a 'convenience tax'.
