In my **********, Zirakpur, Punjab (near Chandigarh) nobody can get a Passport without paying Rs 500 bribe to Police. Everyone knows it. Its a fixed fee you have to pay if you want your Passport Verification done. A few years later (I guess in 2008) I have to pay Rs 1000 more for my Parent's Passport *******
