How to re-register vehicles?

An application for assignment of Karnataka Registration Mark shall be made before the Jurisdictional Regional Transport Officer if the vehicle is kept for more than eleven months in Karnataka state.

Change of address/Transfer ownership should have been recorded in the Registration Certificate.

In case NOC has not been obtained at the time of migration, the registered owner is required to apply in form no 28 to the previous registering authority along with documents for issue of NOC , and submit the NOC obtained for consideration of Re - Registration application. And if there is no reply from the previous registering authority even after 30 days, the registered owner shall submit a copy of the form no. 28 applied, along with the postal acknowledgement for having submitted before the previous registering authority, and a declaration stating that " the application for NOC has neither been rejected nor any reply received from the previous registering authority" to whom the application has been made.

On verification of application and documents, new Registration Mark will be assigned. The documents will be delivered after two days between 4.30 to 5.30 pm
What are the documents to be produced?
The vehicle owner shall produce the following:
1. No Objection Certificate (NOC)
2. Application, along with documents shall be submitted to the concerned R.T.O.
3. Registration certificate (RC Book).
4. Tax Card.
5. Insurance certificate.
6. Consent of the Financier (if applicable).
7. Pollution under Control Certificate.
8. Fitness Certificate and permit in case of transport vehicles.
9. Prescribed fees and difference of tax if any.
10. Three passport size photographs of the applicant.
11. Vehicle shall be produced for inspection in the premises of the R.T.O. if it is not inspected earlier.
Where to register for the transfer?
