Five Nigerians held in Bengaluru for peddling drugs

Bengaluru, June 22 (IANS) Five Nigerians were arrested for peddling cocaine and crystal meth in the city, police said on Thursday.

"A city Crime Branch team raided their rented house in the north-east suburb on Tuesday night and seized 6.4 gm cocaine and 0.8 gm crystal meth valued at Rs 2.5 lakh," said city's Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) S. Ravi in a statement here.

The accused are Ikpendu Peter Ofors, 32; Chinedueze, 32; Fidelis Ezeh, 36; Nonso Joachin, 33 and Valentine Chinedu, 28.

As many as 14 mobile phones, three fake passports, one portable weighing machine and three two-wheelers were seized from their Ramamurthy Nagar house.

A case has been registered against them under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act and the Foreigners' Act.

A local court on Thursday remanded them in 14-day judicial custody.
