Officers pledge to make Delhi corruption-free

New Delhi, Oct 30 (IANS) Delhi government officials on Monday took a pledge here to make the state corruption-free and to not indulge in graft.

Launching the 'Vigilance Awareness Week', Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia administered the pledge to Chief Secretary M.M. Kutty and other officers at the secretariat, an official statement said.

"I believe that corruption has been one of the major obstacles to economic, political and social progress of our country. I believe that all stakeholders such as the government, citizens and private sector need to work together to eradicate corruption," the pledge reads.

The officers also pledged "to neither take nor offer bribe", "to report any incident of corruption to the appropriate agency" and "to act in public interest".

The pledge was released by the Central Vigilance Commission to all ministries, departments, state governments and union territories.
