Opposition resisting 'good moves' against black money: BJP

Posted on December 16, 2016 from Delhi, National ι Report #85416

New Delhi, Dec 16 (IANS) The BJP on Friday criticised the Congress for not acting against black money hoarders during the last three years of the UPA-II tenure, whereas the Modi government formed an SIT on the matter.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ananth Kumar said that even the CPI-M was supporting the Congress, resisting action against stemming black money.

The minister was speaking to the media after the BJP parliamentary meet ahead of the parliament session on Friday.

"Earlier, the party in power used to be involved in scams and the opposition used to unite in fighting against it.

"Now, when the party at the Centre is taking action to root out corruption and black money, their attempts are being scuttled by the opposition," he added.

"We need to think on where we stand now," he said.

He said the BJP believes in putting the nation before the party, while the Congress's ideology did not concur with this line of thought.

The party members also greeted External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj over her recovery from kidney transplant and on being included among top 100 global thinkers.
