Madrid, July 11 (IANS) Real Madrid's young left-back Achraf Hakimi has moved to Borussia Dortmund on loan for the next two seasons, the Spanish football giants announced on Wednesday.

The German side also confirmed the signing of the 19-year-old Moroccan, who competed with his national team in the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, reports Efe.

"Achraf Hakimi is a young, very dynamic full-back who has played at the highest level at Real Madrid and in the Moroccan national team," said Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc.

With the loan of Achraf, the Spanish club maintains its successful policy of sending players to the Bundesliga, where players from the Real Madrid Castilla (Real Madrid's reserve team) were previously on loan, including Daniel Carvajal (Leverkusen), Omar Mascarell (Eintracht Frankfurt) and Borja Mayoral (Wolfsburg).

Achraf is set to join his new teammates during Dortmund's US tour between July 18 and 26, according to the German club's official web site.
