New Delhi, Dec 25 (IANS) Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) chief minister-designate Arvind Kejriwal Wednesday said his party would pass its Jan Lokpal bill within 15 days of forming the government in Delhi.

Speaking at his Kaushambi residence in Ghaziabad town, Uttar Pradesh, Kejriwal said there were so many hurdles in the process, but AAP would tackle all issues and pass the bill.

As per the constitution of India, the Delhi assembly can make laws on any issue except the state list that may infringe any norm of the constitution.

"But the Congress is saying that in 2002, the Transaction of Business Rules were amended and it read that the state government would have to take the permission of the central government on any law made by the state government," Kejriwal said.

"This is wrong, this used to happen under the British rule. Then, all administrative decisions related to India had to be sent to London for approval. We are an independent country now, and the government formed is by the people," he added.

Kejriwal will take oath as the chief minister of Delhi Dec 28 at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi.
