60 Rs fees demanded for enrolling in Aadhar card
Today I went to get registered for an aadhar card. I went to the Dohad municipal office where the Aadhar enrollment is handled by an agency by the name Karvy. Firstly I was asked to procure the Aadhar enrollment form from a shop outside the municipality which charged me 5rs for the form which I believe should have been made available to me from the agency itself.
Moving ahead I filled up all the information in the form and was waiting for my turn. I noticed that the officer sitting there was collecting 60rs per card as enrollment fees.I thought that would be the fees however I noticed that on the form it is mentioned that the Aadhar enrollment is free of cost. When my turn came I enquired about the fees and was told that its normal practice and I I need the card I will have to make the payment or forget about getting the card. I asked them to provide me with a receipt of the money paid but on this I was forced and bullied by municipality people. My Aadhar form was also not processed. It is saddening to see such blatant abuse and corruption happening right inside the municipality office. I am told that the same is the norm and either ri shut up or my form shall never been taken up. Please advice what actions can be taken regarding the same.
The officer was a lady who had me speak to her supervisor who too told me sternly that if I want Aadhar card, i better pay up. Further when I asked for the agency code I was denied the same. The form which was given to me has Karvy printed as the name of the agency. The officers sitting there told me its regarding the salaries of the private agency employees and that either ri pay up or I will be thrown out of the municipality.
