Asked Rs.1500 to remove Hypothecation which cost just Rs.100 if done via the officials
I went to Koramangala RTO office (in Koramangala BDA complex) on 1st of Oct after closing my Car loan at SBI Electronic City to remove the hypothecation and as per the browsing I did I got to know that I will have to pay rs.100 along with the original RC, PUC certificate xerox, insurance xerox, Tax xerox, NOC from Bank, 2 copies of form 35.
I was not carrying PUC (Pollution Under Control) certificate xerox and I inquired inside the office and they told all docs are required and I came out of the office and suddenly a person came to me asked about my requirement and I told him about mine. He told he will get everything ready in 1 day and I will get my new RC book on the very next working day evening, I told i don't have PUC xerox and he told that is not at all an issue, even if i dont have insurance also he will get the hypothecation removal done easily and was laughing as if he is the authority in doing all these and demanded rs.1500 from against the mere rs.100. I tried to bring it down and told rs.300 and he replied nothing less than 1000 rs and I told I will come later to the officials with the PUC xerox and will get it done.
This guy seems to be a regular agent at KA-01 RTO (Bangalore Central) and I saw him handling some Ownership changes cases with other people and heard him telling that he will have to bribe the officials inside to get these things done easily. He seems to muslim guy speaking hindi and kannada in specific accent (Note: this is just to identify the person easily if required and not anything offensive against any religion)
