Black Money in Real Estate
I bought a flat in Rustomjee Riveria in Malad, Mumbai where I told the builder that I will pay the full value, only in white, by cheque. He said fine and after the transaction was done, I realized that I had forgotten to buy parking and then, for that he asked to pay me in black, in cash, on the premise that it was only 1/30th of the flat value (though still about 1 lakh Rs.) and I refused flatly. I still do not have parking space there, since I am not willing to pay in black. In general, the Real Estate Industry in most parts of India is littered with black money and needs urgent regulation.
