Bribe collection by vehicle dealer
I want to buy a new two wheeler. I collected quotation from various dealers in the city. The RTO component was high. When I asked them for a breakup like registration, road tax etc the sum of amounts does not match, when questioned they reluctantly said you should be knowing the QUOTA per vehicle they have to bribe the staff without which the buyer will have to face the music. I think registration of vehicles, road tax payment etc should be made on line without any manual intervention and linked to Aadhar number. We need One India, one tax regime and freedom to take the vehicle anywhere in the country retaining one time RC without having to re-register the vehicle if one moves to another state and also close down interstate RTO check posts. Other wise more and more room is created for bribe.
