Bribe to sales tax vigilance
This is about the Vigilance squad on the way to Tumkur. It is a checkpost office named as TRMCT (VIG 2). Every goods or commercial vechicle passing through will be stopped for a routine check. Even if all invoice and documents are in order the officials there demand Rs.15 to Rs.20 claiming that it is the entry tax. One of our tempo which was stopped for checking called us and asked what has to be done. We asked him to pay and take a receipt. Hearing this the official returned the money (rs.15) back and was angry with my person as he had informed the owner of the goods. the official also told if the bills are not ok another vechicle further on the way will stop him. But a small amount rs. 20/- is paid it is safer. Every single vechicle on this busy highway is paying without questioning Rs.20/- per vechicle . Please ensure something is done about this.
