The cop patiently explained how the penalty is used and why I should pay fine
My driver unknowingly parked our car in no parking zone on JM Road. Before we realized the traffic cop came with a tow truck and starting to tie the car to two truck. I reached on time and requested him to release it. The cop was nice and explained that towing company is contracted service and are paid for each car they attempt to pick up. He has no way to avoid their pay. He told me to pay Rs. 150 fine and resolve the issue quickly. That, he explained, would be the fastest way to get both of us on our way. As soon as I paid the money, he efficiently and quickly gave me the receipt without me asking for it after taking the driver license details. Then he explained that most violators spend more time trying to negotiate a bribe when they can easily afford the fine and resolve the issue faster. A pleasant and eye-opening experience.
