An example of Good officers in Service in Banglore

Reported on March 3, 2011 from Bangalore , Karnataka  ι Report #32515

I am an army officer and never had a passport for my self or my wife or children. I took up a case for applying for passports for my entire small family in 2008. My address got changed and by the time I got the remarks on my application. So when I was asked for documentation which I thought was not required (being a Employee of Govt of India)/I cannot get due to change in residential address, I decided to pay a visit to assistant passport officer sitting in the second floor. He was soft spoken person. he listened to my grievance and asked for my ID the told me why cannot I give documents I told him my address will soon change as I have officially been posted out to a different place and I had to shift my residence as a new house was alloted to me and I am no longer in my old house. He told me to wait and got all my files and asked me to collect my passports personally from the passport office along with my wife. I think he was very descent and polite through out the entire period. I wanted to thank him but was not on his chair when I collected our passports. One thing for sure which he told me "Passports are a citizens right no one can deny it". Hope he goes up the ladder in his organization.
