Government officials asking Bribe to clear the scholarship money
I was a student in a Engineering college during 2004 -2008 in Karnataka and i was entitled for defense scholarship granted from Govt of Karnataka. The amount of Rs 16000 is given to the students,however even after submitting my scholarship form with the proper documents and submission receipt the officials at the dept of Technical education refused to give my scholarship stating that my application is not submitted and it will not be given i used to travel around 11 kms every time i visited their office and they harassed me as i was a student then later they asked for around a sum of around 1200 else they will not issue.My father who works in Defense never took and any bribe and gave also so i was shocked to hear this in my life. Later we submitted a plea at Lokaukta office in Bangalore.It was presided by Hon Justice Santosh Hegde and he also found that there is fault from the Government officials who were on the wrong side.After this they accepted that my application was submitted at the office and sent my scholarship money within one week.This was not published or shown in media, however i decided to share as it will help others to fight against corruption and give some motivation.
