I went to Sub-registrar office today to obtain my property EC for 5 years. According the govt fees it is Rs 35 for one year and Rs 10 for every additional year (Rs 40 for remaining 4 years). So i had to pay Rs 75. The clerk who cuts the challan to whom i gave Rs 100 as i did not have exact change of Rs 75. After taking Rs 100 from me he told me to sit outside and your EC will be ready in 30-45 mins then you come and collect. Then I ok sir but you did not return the Rs 25. Then he looked at me differently and returned the money. I think if we look polite and calm then they take advantage. So try to be strong in the govt offices and try to avoid bribe.
