I DID,nt paid the Bribe -- and I have my Passport with me :-)
Hi All
Police Man Mr. ***** came to my home in Delhi for verification and demanded for Rs.5000 as I am living in Delhi on rent.
However my tenure on been on rent is more than 2 year and my documents were completely fine as per the checklist mentioned on the passport website.
The policeman demanded Rs.5000 for verification.
I asked a very simple question to the police man:
1.IS THIS A PROCESSING FEE?
2.WOULD I BE GETTING A RECEIPT FOR MY PAYMENT..
He angrily left my place murmuring "U.P. waaaloo ka kuch nahi ho sakta" --as I belong from U.P.
The very next day I reported the same to RTI (Right to Information, wrote an email to passport office) within a week i was alloted my passport no.and now I have my passport with me !
Use your right , never ever pay bribe!
