I Resisted to Pay
Though I selected Pudukkottai, i am in this district, but at Keeranur Town. From my school-days i am practicing NO-Bribe. Its considerably less I go to Govt offices for any work done. But whenever I go, I don't bribe and I question the officials - "why I should pay?".
Once when I applied for community certificate and Income Certificate - the clerk said I have to give him the application and should come the next morning - for just one signature from the Thasildhar. I questioned him - why should I wait one-day, and travel once again - for just a signature which takes just 2 mins?. Then the clerk asked me to come in the evening. I said if the clerk can't get the signature I will directly get it from the Thasildhar directly. The the clerk went inside and got me the signature in just 2 mins. I did not pay a bribe.
When I go to the Govt. Bus Depot the officers used to neglect the students becoz they're geting free pass. and they dont serve the students, they will ask the students come the next day, - they will say the concerned officer did not come on that day, or the officer went out for tea (and they will not come back quickly too) - I used to question them. I will ask them if an officer is absent, - why don't you have a backup? I used to expect govt. officer's serve the people and used to question them when they dont. i also have fighted when the govt. officers give preference to the rich when the poor are waiting. I fighted with private orgs too, when they dont serve as expected. whenever something wrong happens - i get my blood hot.. :-)
