I was being frustrated by GDA authorities in allotment of flat for which i had paid full amount
The officials knew that i being a serving army officer will not pay any tips/bribe to get the allotment letter. several visits to the office of GDA and even after meeting the top officials i was unable to get the allotment letter for one excuse or the other. sometimes my file was not traceable and at other times the concerned clerk was not available. my leave was coming to an end and i was getting more and more desperate and frustrated.
at that time my college going teen aged son sensing my frustration offered to take on the task of getting the allotment letter from the office of the GDA. We were staying at Dhaula Kuan which is approximately 45 Kms from the office of the GDA and i must have spent a small fortune on the petrol alone in making several rounds of the GDA office. i was therefore very happy to take on my sons offer and asked him to try his luck. Lo and behold, on the second day he came home triumphantly waving the allotment letter which he had successfully obtained. I was completely shocked and surprised on how he managed to do what i could not accomplish even after several attempts. When i asked him as to how he did it he told me that he simply went and sat down in the office of the joint secy GDA and refused to budge from there till he was given the allotment letter. At the closing time the Jt Secy requested him to leave the office and come next day to collect the letter. he did that and when he went there on the following morning, the Jt Secy ensured that the letter was made and handed over to him before closing time!
Thus i am one of the very few resident of the colony (kaushambi) who got his allotment letter without paying a paise in bribe.
