LIU Office demands Rs 2000 for sending Verification report to Passport Office
I applied for Tatkal Passport on 16.12.2013 due to some urgent requirement in my office and its been over a month and the passport has not been issued. I was told at passport office that the Verification reports have not reached them and I must try to visit the concerned authorities to chase the status. One of the department is Police for Verification report.
My police verification was conducted on 26.12.2013 and the verification report has not been sent yet to Regional Passport Office (RPO), Ghaziabad. I went to Local Intelligence Unit (LIU) Office, Noida to check the status and I was told that it will take at least 25-30 days for LIU Office to send the report. I requested them to speed up the process and after some time, I was escorted by an employee out of the office and I was told that, if I pay Rs. 2000 to him as a support fee, this verification report will be send very next day to RPO. I did not pay the money but was asked to send the File number to a mobile number and when I am ready just call him.
