Today me and my wife, my mother and my grandmother, went to Greater Noida Authority office to register my marriage. Charges for Registration is INR 4/-
Me and my wife had staunchly decided not to pay bribe of 5000/- INR bribe to touts to get marriage registration done, hence we went ourselves to office and wanted to do the process ourselves.
We entered the office and met Mr Ashok who is the record keeper, who checked all our papers and forwarded it to fee counter office, where the details were entered into the system, we were again redirected to Mr Ashok, along with the print out of the Certificate of Mariiage, which furthur had to be sent for Stamping (by Registrar). As soon as Ashok got this file, he asked 2100/- from me. I was puzzled, and i told him fee is 4/- INR only. His words were "baahar toh 5000/- mein hota hai, main toh fir bhi 2100/- mein karwa rha hun". (the bribe outside is 5000/- but i am asking for 2100/- only). I have nothing more to say, both me and my wife walked out as we don't want to pay bribe.
