Reported on June 18, 2014 from Thane , Maharashtra  ι Report #41469

I Mrs. Ganguly from Thane feel very proud to write this letter to inform you that on 09/06/14 around 6.30 I received a call from my driver Popat S. Sathe from Thane to take my permission to pay Traffic police Mr. Anil Kumar Yadav for fancy number plate , I denied to pay the charges as my number plate was not fancy .
The officer along with 4 other people who were not in uniform opened the vehicle door gave bad words to my driver & raised their hand to beat him . My driver was scared hence he left the vehicle & ran from the spot . I called my driver and told him to go to the officer and make him understand that my Number plate was as per RTO Norms but the officer was not ready to hear anything & wanted money from my driver.
Now I myself spoke to the officer after taking his number from Control room I asked him under which act my number plate is faulty he gave me the number 51 CMVR .
Later I spoke to DCP traffic at first he heard me but the moment I told him the officer is demanding money he was very annoyed and spoke very rudely to me he told me that I was putting cheap remark on his class 1 officer , I made the DCP understand that without breaking any rules why will I pay money His officer is wrong and I will go upto the Commissioner , DCP shouted at me and told me I can even complain to Home minister . Hence I even wrote letter to Shri RR PATIL HOME MINISTER FOR THEM TO UNDERSTAND WHAT A COMMON MAN GOES THROUGH FOR NOT PAYING BRIBE . Yet I am proud of myself I did not pay Rs. 100 But spend Rs. 5000 for lawyers fee
