For none of my fault, I am suffering!
I am from a village in ********** District. Working in a Beauty parlour in Mysore and staying in one of our relatives home.The nature of my job requires extensive travelling in and around the city to attend my claints in marriages and other functions.So I borrowed money and purchased a ACTIVA Scooter. One day I parked my Scooter in front of my house (Not on the road)A car came and hit the Scooter and draged it for about 10 feet and finally collided with a culvert. The body and the engine of the vehicle was completely distroyed. I immediately telephoned the trafic police station. police came and without doing any MahaJar, took both the vehicles to the station. I went to the station with my aunt, We were made to wait till late in the evening and finally told us to come the next day and collect the FIR copy and get the comensation from the Insurance company. The Driver of the car was sitting cooly and he told me that he has seen many such cases and he will get the vehicle relesed next day and not worry about the case. He told me to do what ever I want to do, he don't care etc., one of the person who was present in the station (********** be a broker) suggest me to bribe the police so that they will arrange for a compromise and I can get immediate relief. But why should I pay when I have not commited any mistake? and the real culprit the driver of the vehicle who was not even having driving licence is not even punished and left scot free?
I refused to pay anything and approced the Insurance company and got scrap value for the new vehicle Rs.23,000/ as against Rs.58,000/ I paid while I purchased the Scooter. Now I can not get any vehicle for this amount and I am finding it extreemly difficult to ********** my customers , I am already started loosing some customers, I ********** even loose job if I don't keep up timings, I am travelling by city bus. While I am suffering with many problems , the Police has not punished the driver of the car. I approched an advocate to fight the case in the court of law. But the Advocate ask for the fees in advance for filing the case itself. I dont know what am I suppose to do? Please guide me.
