Over speed
Happen to use the elevated express way from electronic city to bangalore last month along with my family in a premium sedan.Speed limit set at 80 on the express way( yes we call it express way and still limit speed) yep as a good citizen i should have kept that down, but the road is excellent and kids wanted the speedo stretch a bit...my speedo was at 90...truly in excess of 80. Cop jumped on to the middle of road with no fear of his life nor the other road users in the express two lane. I Stopped the car in the bay and cop asked for licence, i obeyed, cop gently said " sir you were over speed and need to pay the fine of 300" i apologised as i did not adhere to the law and handed him 300 rupees and requested for a receipt. the change in his expression, colour and tone were similar to a chamelion. I was asked to step down and ********** the inspector seated in his royal chair!! but wait a minute, before you talk to him , you need to talk to the guy with the speed gun, Sir you have exceeded the speed - you can pay 300, the same old story, i said yes, where can i get the receipt, sir your licence number will be noted and you will have problem!! cant really understand what does he mean by problem....but i was treated like a second class citizen, had to wait for 30 mts for no reason and could see other offenders walk off in minutes, but i was determined to collect my receipt and make my kids realise that offence will be punished and no short cuts to it, but never try to get away with out a receipt ...even if it takes time. May be its time we legalise bribe and take away salary, pension and perks offered to govt employees, they will religiously follow the duty without a cry on over time or work load and bring in much needed enforcement and save us lot of tax
