My passport is still pending at Lucknow regional passport office. I had gone through all the proceedings & had submitted all the documents. Application was received on date - 20/11/2013
at passport office as per online status.
Having not received passport, after 45 days i checked the status online which was saying -- " Police report has been submitted by your respective police office and is under processing at regional passport office Lucknow"
This status still remains the same today as well..
Despite of mailing and calling in passport office several times i just received nothing but only disappointments as no one is accountable to pick calls or respond on mails. Though i called and mailed Joint secretary of passport delhi, but I don't understand how their system works. May be they still responding queries sent through inland letters and postcard. I have all the mails as a proof of communication done with higher authorities of passport India.
Frustrating this government procedure, i inquired it personally and encountered with an strange reason after 2 hours of struggle in passport office "passport chap nahi rahe hain, passport books khatam ho gayi hain. Abhi aapka passport banne mein ek mahina aur lagega"
In English it means, "sir you have not greeced our palms properly so we have authority to make you suffer and delay your needful."
According to the passport department lucknow, i will get my passport in my hand after 4 months if i don't pay them bribe. I missed 2 valuable opportunities to visit out of India for my official work, i work in media but never took an advantage pressurizing any one to get my work done fast. I am and Indian citizen first before a media personnel and It should be in a legal way like other Indians go through.
Anyways, I won't pay a single penny even if i don't get my passport. In UP almost everyone pays bribe to get passport.
