Refused toi pay bribe and was let go

I took a wrong u turn while trying to reach a mall in malleswaram Bangalore.The traffic police stopped me and hinted me to pay Rs 100 and go.I demanded that I need the reciept and as a principle I dont pay bribe.Listening to this the police guy got scared and let me go. I am assuming he was not authorised to provide reciepts.
