Said No to 'fees' to police for passport verification
I was called for address verification to Hadapsar police station (Gadi Tal). Went there one evening. Was directed to a back room, not in main building, just two guys sitting there, secomd one left (maybe truly for some imp work..). This guy asked to fill all docs for our three passports, 2 renewal, one new. once when he opened his drawer i saw a bunch of 100's, so knew what was coming. when i handed over the docs, he said in marathi - "fees dya" (give fees). I mustered courage and said - "naka gheu" (pls dont take). he didnt look up, i didnt wait too long. Once home, half dreaded my docs would land in the trash. BUT, finally one day a month and half later, got ALL passports.
