Secunderabad Contonment Board
I am so glad I come across this website. I am of the opinion that we humans live in societies where we make rules for the greater good of all cititens. Sometimes some rules are so archaic that they need to be amended for which we have our elected officals. But most people in our country tend to break the rules when they do not suit their needs or wants and get their way around by bribing. I have always tried to stick to the rules and at times questioned them when they are so outdated but never break them. Here is one such example, and I am having to deal with it. I have a single floored house in Secunderabad area. According to the contonment rules I can legally construct 2 floors. I have done everything right and sought the permissions from the airport authority to construct the second floor. I have got my builder to do the floor plan according to the rules and have submitted to the contonment board for approval. They rejected the application stating that there are some deviations in the original construction. I asked my builder if that was true? and if so, how to rectify them. The builder said there was no truth to it and had me re-apply. Again my application as met the same fate expecting me to ********** them personally to bribe them. According to members of my family and friends I am the looser. I tend to disagree. Well I kept my plans on hold and it has been more than 2 years now and I am hoping that some day there will be an honest officer who will approve my application. I have always had problems with Customs, Cops and every other government office where things don't get done unless you bribe them. While I understand the root cause of this problem (poor salaries and not so equitable distribution of wealth in our society) I believe that people should render their services un-conditionally. In return for prompt services people like me may want to give gratuity. Think about *******
