Speeding over a six lane highway?
Hi All,
can you be speeding at 68km/hr on a six lane highway?.. :)
oh yes this is one of those 'it happens only in India' stories.

In short:
Cops catching everybody for over speeding and using fear over fact to collect fines. I presumes they get a share of the 'fines' collected. No speed limit sign/nothing around.

I was dismayed to be stopped for high speeding, near Maddur, I was wondering can you be overspeeding near the city (qustioned my self am I such an inconsiderate driver!) well nope. I had slowed down at the city limits. Everything was fine.
However not wanting trouble, asked the police officer what's the fine, it was Rs.300/- but the ticket had not been written yet, but intention was in the air, if you agree to pay the fine then i'll write the receipt. I asked for a print out, and the board which states the limit.
I took the efforts to walk down and get a snap of the board. which dint look like nothing more than a bus stop sign.
when I showed the photo to him he let me go and others who were 'caught' for over speeding at the time.
Moral: Cross check the reason you are paying the fine for. dont be afraid and spend an extra minute to *******
