Was asked to pay "something" for passport reissue post verification
After making me fillup all required forms ever so slowly, and making me wait for almost 30 minutes after completing all formalities, a lady constable who was not involved in the conversation so far with me came and said "give him some thing and you can go, we will process the rest" pointing the person who was sitting in the adjuscent room. I just walked out with out meeting him and started my vehicle.
