Hi Raghu, I am Dileep. I recently bought a second-hand flat at HSR Layout, Bangalore. The current owner is not staying in Bangalore. I will be registering this property within 10-15 days. The current owner will be flying down to Bangalore on the day of registration. I want to get this property registered without paying any bribe. I have never paid any bribe so far in my life. All the transactions with respect to this property is in white. I am registering the property on the entire amount (way above the guidance value). I feel that since all my transactions are in white, and I am willing to follow all the rules and regulations of the Govt., I should be getting the property registered without paying anyone any bribe. But since my current owner cannot make multiple visits to Bangalore for the registration, I am afraid if I can get the registration done without paying bribe. My lawyer insists that I will have to pay the bribe if I need to have a smooth process. It will be really great if you can help me in this regard. Even though I can understand the local language, I cannot speak in the local language. It will be greatly appreciated if you can help me in this effort. Every patwari ask for money they call it their official fees, for any revenue related work like getting a copy of revenue account, measuring the land for distribution among brothers etc, change of name of ownership of land. Even tehasildar ask us to come through their agents sitting outside with all blank forms used in tehasils.Agents charge heavy amount for any land related work. Agents say that we have to pay all staff working in tehasil office top to bottom. plz guide me what is true and what can be done to follow the correct procedure, if they refuse to do what is official, whom to contact.

My apartment flat registration is coming up in two months. I do not want to pay any bribe. Paying it and then reporting it does not help. Hard earned money once lost is lost. Hi, I'm from bangalore. I purchased a flat from a builder last year. Now we are trying to get Khata for the flats. About A-Khata no one is giving a enough information or we are not sure who could be trusted. Many give different versions including staff, advoacates and people who are trying to get Khata. Some say mpo A-Khata now, some say you pay money wil get it, so say if you have occupation certificate you will get it etc. etc. So we were told by department that we need to get our B-Khata sot hat taxes could be paid and registration department is asking for a 6000 Rs. bribe per flat to give B-Khata. This procedure has been in the system since long and will continue to the future. If failed to give this cash, I was told that my registration will not be done or may be delayed for some reasons.
