I am sorry for the delayed reply, but better sense has prevailed and the government has now ratified the UN Convention against Corruption. The next steps are to see that the laws are amended accordingly and these stringent provisions are made part of the law. We are shortly coming out with a formulation in this regard.

Dear Raghu, I have signed your petition to the government. I have to ask though, what makes you believe that 1million signatures will influence the government? We have a billion people in our country. I would like to believe that the overwhelming majority of us would not support corruption, are not corrupt. Yet we have allowed the country to reach a level of corruption that is embarassing. Yes WE have allowed this to the extent that now we take part in it without blinking! I live in the UK and was very interested to see on your video that bribing an official of other country is on the UN list. Throughout its history the UK has bought power and business abroad by bribing governments. Is the UK signed up to this? But I don't have to bribe the policeman to get service! Your commnents would be appreciated.
