Duty free allowance if stay abroad is for more than 3 days

Reported on May 27, 2013 from Bangalore , Karnataka  ι Report #34578

Hi, the duty free allowance if the stay abroad for more than 3 days is INR 35,000/- per person. What "proof" is acceptable to determine the value of the duty free goods? What is the conversion rate to calculate the value of goods? Is it sufficient if I carry a receipt of the purchase? I plan to bring in a 40 inch LED TV from Singapore whose value is around Sin$ 750. The conversion in INR is Rs. 33,500/-. Please advice. Thanks in advance.
