I Paid A Bribe is an initiative mainly to curb the menace of corruption by harnessing the collective energy of the citizens. With the bribe reports and experiences that people post on our website, we create a database of bribe reports. These reports are then accumulated and analysed into a Janamahithi ( information for the people) report which provides a base with which we engage with the government. With the Janamahithi, we also provide recommendations on how to improve their services. The first Janamahiti, on the Transport Department, Karnataka is available on our website http://ipaidabribe.com/ for download.
We believe that corruption also exists because people are unaware about the government processes themselves. Hence, apart form the garnering bribe reports, we also have Forums and FAQs which provide all the information on government transactions and processes. The citizen charters of departments are also available on the website. We also have daily updates on news pertaining to corruption.
