According to the citizen's charter of the Karnataka RTO, driving license should be available the next day of passing the test. However, it rarely happens so. You should take a copy of the citizen's charter with you when you go to enquire about the status of the license. Also, carry a written complaint and hand it to the senior officials if the officer you are dealing with is unnecessary causing delays. Your last option would be to file an RTI application to check the status of your license. The process is long and tedious. However, there is no greater satisfaction than having resisted paying bribes to corrupt officials.
