Reported on January 13, 2015 from Bangalore , Karnataka  ι Report #49281

Hi
On 31 of the December 2014 i was coming back to home after dropping my to office . Near Mantri alpyne (which is in BSK 6th stage falls under RR nagar police station limits ) a cop stopped me . I showed him my original driving licence ,then he asked me for the RTC of the vehicle , i showed him the scanned copy of RTC ,Insurance and emission certificate which was stored in my mobile . After examining the scanned copy of document ,he told me scanned copy of documents can not be considered as document either you should have a photocopy of RTC or the original . I asked him how scan copy on the mobile can not be accepted as proof but the print out of same will work ? he did not have any answer to my question. I found this behavior suspicious and asked for his Identity card, this made him angry . He said you made a mistake by asking ID card and took me to RR nagar police station along with my bike. In police station again i had to explain everything to the his superior officer and the other officer asked me to pay 300 rs fine filing some pity case against me . I didn't get the receipt for the same. Is this wrong to ask for the ID card from police?
