Hi,

I was born at home in a village in Belgaum in May 1969 at my aunt's place. My mother came back to Mumbai where my parents lived then. My father registered my birth in Mumbai on 11 July 1969.

Recently, I found bits and pieces of my birth certificate. There are two numbers, one on the top left and other one on top right. One of them is registration number I guess.

The pieces also show my name, sex, etc. Father's name is not clear and the part with mother's name is missing.

Now, if I want a copy/copies of my birth certificate, can I get it? On inquiry in the Parel ward (where my birth was registered) they are telling us to get some proof from the original birth place ( Belgaum). But how can I have any proof from there? It was a small village where my mother had visited just for a couple of months. So nothing is registered there.

How can I get my birth certificate now?

Thanks.
